Dear Skiers and Snowboarders, It’s an exciting time on the mountain, with only a month before ski and snowboard season begins! Our team is buzzing with anticipation as we’ve been seeing steady moisture combined with colder temperatures. La Niña has been predicted and we are looking forward to big snow and a great winter! We’ve been making significant changes on the mountain all summer long and can’t wait to welcome you back. Enjoy a new website , online booking, new LIVE stream webcams , new signage, new menu items, and a new snow stake is on the way. The most sizable projects of all are the investments we’ve made in our chairlifts. Thanks to a $750,000 grant from the State of Washington as well as over $250,000 of our own investment, Illuminator (Chair 2), is in the middle of a major overhaul with a complete replacement of the Drive Terminal. This chairlift is the backbone of the mountain and this overhaul will ensure reliability and efficiency for many years into the future. Construction is currently underway and completion is scheduled for the end of December. Hidden Treasure (Chair 4) has also undergone a major remodel with a new haul rope, variable speed drive, and galvanized chairs. Beginner’s Luck (Chair 5) also has a new variable speed drive, making loading and unloading safer and more efficient for our smallest riders. This season, the mountain team is dedicated to creating a safe environment while bringing fun back to the slopes. You’ll find terrain park competitions, ski races, live music, demo days, holiday celebrations, and special events, which will all be returning in a controlled, safe manner. Lodges will be back open this season, using Federal and State COVID mandates as our guide. We will be dedicated to maintaining a clean environment for you and your family to enjoy. Although there are still challenges to navigating in this COVID environment, we want this season to be about embracing community and bringing back that ski and snowboard culture that we all love. We hope you are as ready as we are to open the doors to another winter season! Jim van Löben Sels General Manager Read the entire newsletter.
