MEAD, Wash. – Pick strawberries under the supermoon at Walters’ Fruit Ranch.
July’s full moon comes on Wednesday. At the same time, the moon’s orbit will bring it closer to Earth than usual in what’s called a “supermoon.”
This can make the moon appear slightly bigger and brighter.
June’s supermoon was called the “strawberry moon” because it’s the full moon at strawberry harvest time. Summer rain has delayed some local crops, so the perfect time to pick strawberries is now.
Walters’ Fruit Ranch will be open for picking from 8-8:30 p.m. Wednesday night.
