Car crash causes significant delays on I-90 near Liberty Lake, one person killed

LIBERTY LAKE, Wash. — A car crash near Liberty Lake has fully blocked traffic on eastbound I-90, and one person has been killed.

According to Washington State Patrol, the crash involved a car and a motorcycle on the interstate, just east of MP 297. The motorcyclist was critically injured in the crash, who died of their injures. They said both lanes will be blocked while a Lifelite medical helicopter picks up the motorcyclist.

Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) said to expect significant delays both east and westbound I-90. They said to avoid the area if possible.

WSP said there is a detour in Liberty Lake on Appleway Blvd. Also, they said eastbound traffic can get by on the right shoulder through the scene.

Eastbound traffic is backed up to Sullivan Rd., while westbound traffic is backed up across the Idaho state line.

The crash is under investigation.
